Well, the threatened redundancy happened earlier today. All in all a pretty eventful day in my life!
My director came out this lunchtime with the letter that I am to attend a meeting next Friday to discuss the terms and conditions of my redundancy.
This is the first time I have ever been made redundant and I have been working since 1981.
I have a 2nd interview with one company week commencing 20th April, so wish me luck.
I may soon be asking you send me red cross parcels!
Love

You poor thing - at least you will have some time to discuss things with your wife.

Mm, even when expected it is still absolutely gutting. It is nearly 10 years ago that I was on the receiving end - I'd been in the same job since levaing university, almost 14 years.
ReplyDeleteIt was a couple of weeks after being told, while still working my notice, that I finally cried. Don't leave it so long, Emma.
Single piece of advice: stock up on tissues.
